Late (but with pictures!)
posted in 2007 WIPs, General, Secret Pal and Stash |It’s been another one of those weeks. I didn’t even go to knitting Wednesday night, thanks to a killer migraine that sent me home from work early, and left me asleep from like 5:30pm – 5:00am the next morning (complete with migraine hangover – bleh!) But it’s Friday, and I’m on a 4 day weekend! I actually took today off. I got some housey type things done (vacuuming, some laundry and even scrubbed down a bathroom or two). More on my day in a bit, I have a thank you to share and a progress pic too!
I think I mentioned I had joined the Stuff Knitter Want exchange group on Yahoo a while back… Anyway, I got my swap package from Katie last week and was horribly neglectful in posting what she gifted me. (Katie doesn’t have a blog, or I’d link her). Sorry Katie, I did love everything (and lest you think I’ve lost my manners, I emailed her and posted to the group how much I loved her gifts!)
Aren’t they all awesome! She sent me THREE sets of markers, and a “Don’t Mess with Texas” keychain. Even the holders she used for the markers were cool – silver spirals! Many thanks Katie, I really do love them all!
And what’s that peaking out behind the stitch markers? That would be the makings of one of these. I think it will make a wonderful warm up project before the Secret of the Stole starts up on Oct 5th. (Membership closes October 4th, but go ahead and join now. There’s a test swatch up, along with yarn and needle and bead suggestions.)
I don’t think the picture does it justice (you can click for bigger, as always). I was wary of trying the linen, but after feeling a few FOs completed with this Louet Euroflax, I decided to give it a shot. I HOPE to cast on before the long weekend is out, but that will completely depend on how quickly I get through with the Baby Cardi (that needs to be done before I go back to work on Tuesday. Technically I have until Friday but I set the goal of finishing sooner than later. I have MANY things I am itching to cast on for, and I can’t start any of them until this is done. Look out once it’s finished though! In addition to the Woodland Shawl, there are roughly 4 or 5 other things I want to start, and it will be tough to contain myself – although packing and freaking out about closing and moving may keep my knitting time sort of limited. Maybe.)
And to prove there has been progress on said baby sweater – look!
I just need a block of time to finish it up. I planned to knit today, but between all the house work, running out to get a few errands done, and browsing yarn pr0n (hey, I need to figure out what yarn I am using for the KAL, right?), I didn’t get to any before my honey came home. Then we ran to the house, checked a few things out, did a quick stop at the supermarket to pick up broccoli (simple roasted broccoli and onions for a side with dinner – YUM!) We got home and I was greeted by a simple white package at my door. I had almost forgotten I had ordered this item, and when I saw the return address

it took me a moment to figure out what it was.
The infamous Dream in Color Tulips Baby sweater kit arrived today and it looks just as pretty as the pictures! It’s yet another project I can’t wait to start knitting, but it will have to wait it’s turn in queue (depending on my mood, that queue order could get a shake-up! There’s quite a bit of stuff I want to start NOW.)
There’s my update. Next stop? Comfy chair, with knitting!
